M. Sezai Dinçer was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1952. He obtained his B.S. degree from Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey in 1975. Then, he achieved his M.S. degree from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 1979. Later in 1985, he pursued his Ph.D. degree on Electrical Engineering from University of Windsor, in Canada. During 1976-1977, he worked as a Research Engineer at the Turkish Electricity Authority Test Department and High Voltage Lab. He also worked as a Student Assistant in the High Voltage Lab of Middle East Technical University during 1975-1979.

In 1980, he was awarded the University of Windsor Post Graduate Scholarship and during the period 1980-1984, he became a Teaching and Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Windsor. Additionally, he was an Instructor at the same Department during 1985-1987.

In 1988, he joined the Middle East Technical University as an Assistant Professor and during that same year, he was promoted as an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Later in 1994, he was promoted to the rank of Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Gazi University. Furthermore, during 1994-2012, he served as a full Professor at Gazi University. Also during 2003-2005, he was the Founding Chairman of the Department of Computer Engineering. Moreover, he acted as the Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering during 1994-1996. Additionally, he also served as a Faculty Board Member during the period 2000-2006.

Professor M. Sezai Dincer is currently working at the Near East University and also performs consultancy services in High Voltage Engineering. His ongoing experimental and theoretical research is in the field of high voltage engineering and gaseous insulators. He has published many papers in scientific journals and in the proceedings of international conferences. The literature related to his research can be reached in Google Scholar and Web of Science data bases. He has authored courses given on EE 475 High Voltage Techniques I EE 476 High Voltage Techniques II EE472 Power System Analysis II EE 473 Power Systems Protection.

Research Interests
